Going out for us doesn’t always look like a fancy restaurant or a night on the town. Sometimes for us it’s as simple as laying on the couch enjoying a movie or going on some unknown adventure. Our latest “unknown adventure” was one that we stumbled upon… and it was definitely one of our favorites.
The Gulf Coast near Fort Myers consists of islands, inlets, peninsulas, and other shapes of land and water. Navigating this area often means traveling around water, across bridges, and traversing through islands. While Fort Myers and Cape Coral are on the mainland, these coastal areas are very scenic and full of adventure spots. Our latest adventure spot was Pine Island, FL.

Definitely not the worst sunset we've ever seen. In fact, this Pine Island sunset was one of our favorites:)

Pine Island is actually a very low-populated island, with a hub in the center where the only road leads you on and off of the island, one small town on the south end (St. James City), and one on the north end (Bokeelia). We went north and snapped these awesome pics on the road to the Bokeelia.

Long story short, if you're in the mood for a low-key, laid-back scenic beach drive, Pine Island might just be the perfect spot. We'll be sure to explore other island drives nearby, but for now, Pine Island is taking its place at the top of the list.
